Mark Mitchum
Mark is a senior defense and aerospace executive with over three decades of experience leading large organizations at the intersection of strategy, technology, and national security. He advises executives, boards, investors, and consulting teams on defense modernization, force design, capital allocation, and enterprise transformation.
Previously, he served as the Commander of the Air Force Integrated Capabilities Command (Provisional), where he led the stand-up of the Air Force’s enterprise capability development organization. In this role, he integrated strategy, requirements, analytics, and investment planning to accelerate modernization outcomes and align long-term force design with fiscal and operational realities.
Mark has extensive experience overseeing multi-year defense investment planning and advising senior leaders on portfolio trade-offs, affordability, and risk across one of the world’s largest defense enterprises. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with senior civilian leadership, Congress, and industry partners to shape and execute major modernization initiatives. Mark is a command pilot with global assignment flying the F-15, F-16 and F-22.
